How to Remove Chlorine From Your Municipal Water Supply

Chlorinated water flows into the chamber from your water supply through the valve and passes through the Carbon media, which traps the chlorine removing it from your families water. Health friendly, chlorine free water flows into your home. After a pre-programmed period of time, usually about 5 days, the automatic backwash cycle starts and lasts about 6 to 15 minutes to back wash the chlorine to the drain. Water is forced down through a tube in the middle of the tank and then upwards through the filter bed, expanding the carbon media, and as it does, the water carries the chlorine we have been filtering out of the water to the drain. At the end of the backwash cycle, the Clack valve changes the direction of flow through the chamber and water flows quickly downward to rinse and settle the Carbon media back down so that it’s ready to go back into service to remove chlorine from your family’s water. No chemicals to add or replenish and very long media life.
