Pre Purchase Water System Inspections

Most families shopping for a new home would not complete a purchase without a home inspection.   However, home inspectors do not check water systems to ensure your home has water that is safe or even that the water treatment equipment operates properly. On municipal water sources, the municipality makes sure the water delivered to your home is safe.  On well or surface water systems it is up to the home owner to make sure your water is safe to drink.

When you are considering purchasing a new home we can test its water for you.   We conduct this testing withinSimcoeCounty.   Your Pre Purchase Water System Inspections include the following:

Bacteria Test for Total Coliform and E Coli to ensure that the water is potable by a lab that is licensed by the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) and accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).   Tested only on well or surface water sources.

Complete analysis of the raw water entering the home, testing for hardness, iron, tannins, sulphur, pH and Total Dissolved Solids.

If there is water treatment equipment installed we test the treated water to ensure the equipment is operating properly.

Report on general condition of existing water treatment equipment.

Check flow rate from the well pump.

Summarize the findings and highlight potential areas of concern.

Completed report emailed to client within 48 hours of testing.   For more information, contact us at 705 527-5900 or [email protected]
