How to Bypass a Clack WS1 Water Softener

Turning the two “red arrows” so they point toward each other bypasses the Clack WS1 easily

There are certain circumstances where you might want to bypass a Clack WS1   Water Softener, such as when filling swimming pools, hot tubs, watering the lawns etc.   This is easily done by turning the two red pointers at the top back of the valve toward each other.     After bypassing, none of the household water flows through the water softener at all.   Once you have finished using the raw bypassed water be sure to remember to put the water softener valve back into service by moving the red arrows back to their original position, so the water softener can do the job it was intended to do.
